It was 2003 and Tim Frank and I were living and working in Nepal for a Christian development organisation [INF] and on our way to deliver a print job in Kathmandu. By the time the 7 hour bus trip was over we’d published books across three continents, won the Bollywood equivalent of an Oscar and released a one-hit-wonder onto the Nepali pop music scene. Basically, we had too many ideas to go our separate ways after Nepal. So beginning with stories and imagery we’d generated while working with INF, we launched Frank & Dixon in August 2004. The idea being to work on creative projects together, and eventually grow it into a full-time creative studio somewhere in Asia Pacific, but when Tim was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on the same road to Kathmandu road in 2006, I put the whole thing on hold.
So when the right circumstances presented themselves, I formally relaunched Frank & Dixon. A business birthed out of our experience working in the two-thirds world, a business with creativity at its core and one founded on a fundamental belief that good businesses and good causes deserve great design. Now, with head office in Australia and a presence in China and Malaysia, we’re an international team of strategists, writers, designers and programmers servicing clients throughout the Asia Pacific region. And of course, Frank & Dixon is dedicated to the memory of Tim Frank.
